Lucia Grisaffi is a young lyric soprano with a vibrant stage presence and a passion for education. She is a second-year undergraduate at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. She is studying vocal performance in William Sharp’s studio, along with a double major in Music Education, expecting to graduate in 2028. For work-study, she holds an internship as an administrative assistant at the Peabody Preparatory School.

Growing up in Seattle, Lucia took piano lessons and switched to violin in her later childhood. She was involved with multiple orchestras in high school. She started singing and joined her high school’s chamber and jazz choir in high school. She auditioned and participated in many state and national choirs and orchestras including All-State Vocal Jazz, All-State Concert Choir, and All-Northwest Soprano-Alto Choir. Lucia also placed 1st in state in the Soprano category in the 2024 WMEA State Solo-Ensemble competition as well as being part of the 1st place winning large string ensemble in the 2023 WMEA Solo-Ensemble. She is currently involved with multiple choirs at Peabody Conservatory and has experience with chamber ensembles as well.

Along with performing, Lucia helped her high school teachers as a TA and has experience with conducting both orchestras and choirs. She is enrolled in conducting and education courses as well as instrumental pedagogy classes to hone her skills as a music educator. Her future aspirations are to receive a master’s degree and to teach a studio of her own but wishes to experience a wide range of professional experiences from performing to classroom teaching!
